A few years ago, the music industry witnessed one of the worst song scandals ever when singers Iryn Namubiru, Catherine Kusasira and Lyto Boss all claimed that they owned a song titled ‘Anjagala’. Because of this conflict, Catherine Kusasira was even put behind bars and as we speak, there are three versions of the same song.
This is one of the very many cases but on a good number of occasions artistes who are fighting over songs don’t back down.
However, singer Lydia Jazmine has proved that she is a different artiste after letting go of a song that she had been sold to.
Lydia Jazmine bought a song titled ‘Mpanirira’ and she released it a few days ago but little did she know that the song writer had also sold the same song to another artiste.
“We bought this song from one of the top music writers in Uganda. However, one week after release, it has come to our knowledge that the song had been sold to another person before getting to our custody,” she wrote in a press release.
Because of this development, she has decided to let it go with immediate effect.
“Although we are victims of the Writer’s deed, we highly regret any inconveniences caused.”
She did this to keep her brand and reputation of staying away from conflict drama.
“Get ready to dance to new music because we shall be releasing another big audio and visual in a week’s time.” She concluded
