Rapper Fik Fameica is a trending artiste with over three songs topping charts in East Africa currently but that hasn’t stopped legendary Reggae maestro Maddox Ssematimba from warning him.
The information we got is that Maddox has warned the rapper from plagiarizing his ‘Take It Easy’ song which Fameica was planning on redoing.
We also understand that Fik Fameica was willing to pay Maddox a whooping Ug Shs 1 million for the authorization. Maddox said that Fik Fameica should not temper with any of his songs because they are copyrighted.
Maddox Ssemanda Ssematimba is among the few Ugandan artistes with few songs but with a big brand. He has two albums which he recorded in while staying in Sweden and redoing his songs would simply mean they won’t be at a level he wants them to be at. In fact, that is the reason why he hasn’t recorded any song in Uganda since his return.
Meanwhile, Fik Fameica has for long been accused of of plagiarizing other musicians’ hit songs to gain limelight and the recent was the ‘Kutama’ hit which he allegedly duplicated from the Kenyan gospel song ‘Thitima Anthem’ sang by singers Kaymo and Stigah.
We hope that Fameica listened to Maddox’s warning
