For a company that prides itself in organizing mega concerts across the globe, nurturing that talent from the grassroots has become a must. That’s why Mambo entertains Uganda has made it a priority to identify, nature and develop talent from an early stage.
The Entertainment and Promotion Company, founded by Michael Lule in Amsterdam boasts of hosting some of Uganda’s top artists for international shows overseas mostly in Amsterdam and other Scandinavian countries.
They have organized some of the biggest shows in Europe for the likes of Bebe Cool, Bobi Wine, Eddy Kenzo, Maro, Radio and Weasel and many others. Come Valentine’s day, they will be hosting Nince Henry for special Valentine day lovers concert.
However, after the success in music promotion, Lule who was talking exclusively to chano8, said they now want to venture into other aspects of entertainment and also sports. They have started this by opening up a Fashion and modelling section as well as a dance class which have all kicked off in Mengo Back Packers after a comprehensive talent search.
Soon, they will be venturing into boxing where talent in the younger age bracket of 11-15 amateurs will fight their way through the ranks in organized tournaments. Some of the talent can later advance and graduate into the professional ranks and also represent the country at international level.
Female National Kick-Boxing Champion Patricia Apolot who is already signed to this group and is expected to secure an international fight soon, is one of the trainers and has been preparing for the engagements as well as helping the team set up structures.
Lule, who also calls himself Mambo, says his passion to develop talent has also forced him into TV production and Debating on topical issues to improve the situation of Ugandans both at home and in the Diaspora. He already features such clips on his Mambo Entertains social media platforms and on YouTube discussing the education system in Uganda.
