Man U And Fans Bid Emotional Farewell To Legend Wayne Rooney

Following a successful 13 year era at Manchester United, striker Wayne Rooney finally  left the club on a free transfer after13 seasons and rejoined Everton FC which was his former club before joining the Red Devils on a deal of 25.6 million pounds in the 2004 summer transfer window.

Manchester confirmed Rooney’s move on Sunday the 9th of July and they took to their official Twitter page saying; “#FarewellToALegend@WayneRooney is leaving #MUFC to return to Everton: http://manutd.co/vU .Thank you, Wayne, from all of us.”

The 31-year-old England international started out at Everton and played for the senior team from 2002-04 before joining United. He has the sixth-most appearances for the club and scored 253 for United, passing legend Sir Bobby Charlton last season. He returns to Everton where it all started on a two-year contract.

Fans and well wishers have since then taken to social media with Twitter being the most used platform where they were saying farewell to the Man United former captain tweeting in the hash tag #FarewellToALegend.
