Reigning Mirinda Miss Teens Queen Vanessa Nansoove, flanked by other 2015 finalists took time off her schedule to donate to the Missionaries of the Poor, a church-based charity organisation. Backed by officials from Crown Beverages and Mirinda, they took aid like clothes and foodstuffs to help ease the missionaries’ work. This took place on Sunday 24th 2016 in Mengo-Kisenyi.
Nansoove was executing her role as a public figure by practicing Corporate Social responsibility, giving back to the community and not only basking in the adulation of the fame she has attained. She was full of praise for the clergy for the service they are offering to the community.
“I want to thank the brothers and sisters of the Missionaries of the Poor for the continued support they offer the hundreds of needy people not only in Uganda but in other countries as well.” She said.
The beauty pageant winner also noted the role of the youth in helping to build strong foundations for others through giving, calling upon them to be actively involved in acts such as these.
“We must all embrace our social responsibility to the community and stop under looking the needs of the less fortunate. I urge all my fellow youth to join us in this cause and contribute whatever they can to better the lives of our brothers and sisters in poverty stricken areas.”Nasoove added.
Father Loubert, who represented the Missionaries of the Poor thanked Mirinda and the Miss Teens contestant for an act so noble.
“We are honored to have you here with us today and are very grateful for the support you have accorded us. I must commend Vaneesa and her mother for working as a team to see that this day is a success.” he said.
Nansoove and her team spent the rest of the day with the underpriviledged, sharing and spreading the spirit of joy to them.
