With the theme ‘cooperation’, sharing hall was filled to capacity for the annual Hip Hop for society event which presented a mix of entertainment and education.
“I am having fun meeting new people, fresh faces and learning a lot about art and culture,” said Mathius Onen, a spectator at the end of the 9th annual HipHop for Society event organized by Breakdance Project Uganda on Sunday at Sharing Youth Centre, Nsambya.
The sentiments by Onen summarize the mood at the end of yet another successful event which was a mix of entertaining dance, rap and beat-boxing performances, competitions, educational workshops and talks by partnering NGOs.
The year’s theme was cooperation, and it attracted a mixed crowd of different ages, races, economic, cultural and educational backgrounds. Not only did the event entertain the crowd, but it also gave people an opportunity to network and learn from each other.
Besides the dance acts that came from Save Street Children Uganda, People’s concern Children’s Project, lawsome crew of Bgirls and many cyphers read freestyle dancers, the event had performances from artistes like St Nellysade, Snooty Fredo, Sylvester and Abramz and Zulu Nation among others to the delight of the crowd.
