During the just concluded Kampala Capital City Authority Carnival, musician Spice Diana was beaten up by police to the extent that she was admitted.
She claims it was the police that did her that injustice but we have just learnt that in a twist of events, the police are now charging her with assault.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Emillian Kayima, Spice Diana and her manager Lubega Roger assaulted a Police officer on duty after they were refused access to The Kampala Carnival without check up. “She refused to comply with rules of security; she and her manager Lubega Roger said no to the Police check and wanted to forcefully access the venue. She was later arrested and taken to Nkurumah police post, we released her on Police Bond and the file is ready for prosecution” said Kayima.
If found guilty, the ‘Tekinanta’ musician will have to pay a hefty price to the assaulted officer.
Spice Diana however claims that police officers attacked her after she had just finished performing on one of the stages while going to another one.
