Mountain Dew yesterday launched an exciting countrywide campaign dubbed ‘Mountain Dew Extreme Tour’ to promote the recently introduced grip bottle and to tighten ‘its connection with its customers across in Uganda. The 330ml plastic bottle costs Shs 1,200 and while the 500ml pack goes for Shs 1,70 which are now available in Supermarkets, Dukas and Kiosks all over the country.
The Shs 500-Million tour which kick-started with a daring action-packed official launch at Shoprite Lugogo, will run from September to October in major towns across the country.
Mr Innocent Tibayeita the head of sales and marketing at Crown Beverages confirmed in a statement that was issued to the press at the Lugogo event.
“The annual tour, which brings out the brand extreme personality, is aimed at inspiring youth in Uganda to be bold, daring and different and to live their lives to the fullest. It encourages them to go out and grab all the excitement and adventure the world has to offer” He said.
The tour which is expected to generate a lot of excitement and increase Mountain Dew sales all over the country, has been on over a couple of years and extreme games like Motocross, Video gaming, Wall climbing, Skateboarding, powerising among others, will be used as the flagship activities of the tour.
And yesterday, some of the first participants walked away with Mountain Dew goodies like bottles of soda, T-Shirts and caps after taking part in some of the challenges like Bike racing and wall climbing where 17-year old Jamil Kasozi emerged overall winner after finishing the Wall Climbing event in an impressive 28 seconds which has now become the national record for none-pros.
He walked away with a BMX Bike, T-shirt, cap and bottles of Mountain Dew which were handed to him by brand Manager Mrs. Berna Kizza.
