Comedian Kato Lubwana says his mission as a member of parliament for Rubaga South is to professionalize the arts and the music Industry.
He says this is the right time for musicians and performing artists and comedians to benefit from his time at parliament as he will be their voice for the next five years.
Speaking on Ddembe FM’s entertainment programme ‘Talk and Talk hosted by Kasuku, Sendi and Jenkins Mukasa, Lubwama said his victory is for the good of every one people in the entertainment industry.
“I will help musicians, comedians and all people with their problems because parliament is where all laws that govern Uganda are made. These colleagues had issues but they never had somebody to help them,” he said.
He said that will manage the job very well despite his problem of not being eloquent in English.
“People have been asking me if I will manage house debates because of my inability to speak good English, but I promise I will do my best to talk. I can speak English though am not fluent” he added.
The former central broadcasting Service (CBS) morning show presenter said he is not different from the outgoing area MP ken Lukyamuzi because they share similar characteristics.
“Even Lukyamuzi is a comedian like me. We are all talkative and jokers,”
He said he has suspended all radio and television interviews because he has not yet mastered the art of politics.
“These journalists have been inviting me for all interviews ever since I won the polls but am suspending interviews because I don’t want to make mistakes,” he concluded
