Much as he was born and raised in the Ghetto, Bobi Wine proved that with his status, he can represent his people in one of the biggest offices in Uganda’s politics bringing parliament to a standstill as Members flexed to have a piece of him.
Before he entered the august house, there was total calmness but things changed when he was ushered in. MPs started shouting like school children and it took the speaker about 2 minutes to bring the house to order.
Most Members wanted Bobi Wine to seat next to them and Honourable Betty Nambozze was seen grabbing him by the hand, Allan Sewenyana calling him to seat next to him while others just laughed.
“Order, Honourable members, please don’t confuse the member,” the speaker was heard saying.
Bobi Wine took his oath today but created history when thousands of his fans escorted him to Parliament to witness this moment.
A lot is expected of him and he promises to do the best he can to see that Kyadondo East is represented well.
He joins other entertainers like Kato Lubwama, Judith Babirye and Ssematimba in Parliament.
