Yesterday, musician Dr Jose Chameleone wrote an open letter on his social media platforms asking the president of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to forgive fellow musician Bobi Wine who is currently being held at Makindye barracks with charges of treason.
But the public blamed Chameleone for this letter asking him why the president should forgive and pardon Kydondo East MP Hon. Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine because he hasn’t done anything wrong. Among those who questioned Chameleone’s motive was Mukino municipality MP Betty Nambooze.
However, the Leone Island boss has come out and clarified what his open letter was all about.
He said that the letter was meant for the two parties Bobi and the President to mend their relationship.
“My letter did neither ask him to apologize nor portray him as an offender but directed to mend the relationship between him and the head of state as leaders of society,” Chameleone wrote.
He added that as a brother, Fellow artiste, father and family man, he believes Bobi Wine’s family, friends, fans and people want him in the best shape possible but most importantly to be available, Provide, Love and stand with them. “I await, If given a chance since even his closest family members have been denied access, To visit a brother, Friend and son of our nation.”
