A few weeks back, we reported that Ugandan journalist Nancy Kacungira who is based in Kenya was to be honored with an award by the British Broadcasting Centre for her tremendous role as a news anchor.
Well, she yesterday received the first BBC world news KomlaDumor award at a ceremony graced by some of the big names we watch on BBC.
As part of the award which seeks to promote excellence in African journalism, the former NTV news presenter will spend the next three months working at the BBC headquarters in London. She will also be sharing her experience as a news anchor for Kenya Television Network.
KomlaDumor Award was established as a tribute to the BBC journalist Komla Dumor who passed on last year aged 41.
Nancy Kacungira is a Ugandan born journalist whose news anchoring career rose to the franks on NTV before she moved to Kenya to spread her wings.
