Bob Marley is arguably the Godfather of Reggae music because of his legacy and number of hits he outed before he died but to let his legacy live on, the Jamaican legend left his children to pick off from where he left off and Damian Marley, the youngest has so far stood out in that role among his sons.
Damien has released quite a number of tracks that have become hits all over the world which has made him a force to reckon with in the music industry. Songs such as ‘Beautiful’ with Bobby Brown, ‘Welcome to Jamrock’, ‘set up shop’ and ‘riot’ among others but his collaborations with Nas, a legendary Hip Hop artiste could be the reason why the organizers (according to an insider) of Bayimba Festival have decided to fly in both artistes next year for a bigger festival.
Both artistes behind songs like ‘Road to Zion’, ‘As We Enter’, ‘Nah Mean’, ‘Patience’ and ‘Distant Relatives’ will be headlining next year’s Bayimba in Uganda. We are not sure how much they are being paid to come to Uganda but one thing we are definite about is that National Theatre is not going to be the venue like it has always been.
