Hip Hop veteran Navio real names Daniel Kigozi promised Uganda a concert they have never seen before and yes it was manifested last night at Garden City roof top located in Kampala as he did not only put up a good show but also got a good crowd to cheer him on during those live sessions.
Starting off the showtime as early as 8:15 pm, the highly anticipated Njogereza concert successfully went down with mind-blowing music performances which the revellers enjoyed. Curtain raisers were many and amongst them were little-known Jora MC and Oki Foever.
After every performance, the Djs played top Hip Hop songs to keep the attendees entertained and later another round of performances had Valentine, 4GB, Percy Commando, New York, Fefe Busi, Kent and Flosso and later Mr Mosh who did his usual free style rhymes.
Young Mulo followed next, Taka HD and Martha Smallz, Luga flow veteran St Nelly Sade who performed alongside Moze Beat Boxer who makes near to perfect beats using his mouth, Vampino who performed his new ‘Smart Wire’ tune and later the curtain raisers session was sealed by Dancehall sensation Ziza Bafa who threw the fans into a frenzy performing alongside his usual queen dancer doing the erotic dance moves.
Dressed in a pair of red Nike snickers, black pants, black sleeveless shirt and a black hooded jacket, Navio took the stage at exactly 10:22 pm. The fans who were all along waiting for him welcomed him with lots of ululations.
Backed up with two singers, he began his live performance doing ‘To The Top’, ‘Nawulila’, ‘Bugumu’, ‘One and Only’, ‘Nfude Kigozi’ and was later joined by Maurice Kirya with whom they did their ‘Revolution’ collabo. Saba Saba (Maurice Kirya’s brother) joined them too and together with Navio, they did his (Saba Saba’s) ‘Muduke Muduke’ song as Maurice displayed his guitar playing skills.
Navio later called Gravity Omutujju with whom they performed his (Navio’s) ‘Kata’ song. He later concluded his round one doing ‘Ngalo’, leaving the stage for more headlining artistes like Maro, Keko alongside guitarist and singer Charmant Mushaga, Mun G and Big Size Bebe Cool.
Navio came back in part 2 although this time it was not live like part 1, he introduced ‘The Mith’ with whom they performed their ‘Go Hard’ collabo and later concluded the night’s performance doing ‘Gbesile’ featuring Nigeria’s Burna Boy, ‘Ndimukodo’, ‘Tell Me’ alongside Michel Ross and finally the fans’ favourite ‘Njogereza’ which got the whole crowd dancing and shaking it off.
Navio’s Njogereza concert was well attended mostly in the ordinary section and some of the celebrities who were in attendance were Leila Kayondo, Hellen Lukoma, Dr Maggie Kigozi (Navio’s mother), Talent Africa’s Aly Allibhai, Jack Pemba and his wife Sheeba Kasami.
