Before Mitcho quit coaching the Uganda cranes, he was earning Ug Shs 50million every month which is 40 million short of what the new Cranes manager Sébastien Desabre is going to be earning on his new role believed to be paid by FUFA and the governemnet of Uganda.
It should be remembered that Mitcho quit the national team following unpaid arrears of over four months but the Uganda football body FUFA has said that will not be the case with the new coach who was unveiled yesterday at the FUFA House in Mengo.
The 41 year old Frenchman Desabre will be assisted by Mathias Lule while Fred Kajoba will remain as the Goalkeeping coach. Ronald Kisolo and Ivan Ssewanyana were also maintained as the team doctors and physic respectively.
Desabre will supervise all the national development teams (U-23, U-20 and U-17) because FUFA’s philosophy is to build football from the grass-roots.
The process to select the national team coach was successful with 93 applicants, 5 of whom were Ugandans and Government was fully involved in the entire process.
