We love to stay on top of the game with all the hip trends but this one is a little out of the box especially for fragile pregnant ladies let alone Ugandans, but trends are for the fearless. Yes I am talking about pregnancy body paint photo shoots.
First were the nude photos which after a while stopped being scandalous and we embraced as artistic as long as the important parts were covered. It was shame for pregnant women to bare their protruding bellies out to the camera let alone show other people. Shame on us there.
Trust human intelligence to find a loop hole in this moral dilemma, hence the birth of body paint as clothing. This started with the Jamaican celebrations, then the carnivores in Brazil until it was in photo studios and runways.
Celebrity mums weren’t far off when they decided, why not them? and I kid you not, they look amazing! one look at Kate Winslate and your jaw drops. Many others went on to embrac this form of celebrating their woman hood and pregnancy.
Some of the celebrity mums who have done this include; Phoebe Halliwell, Kate Winslate, Naturi Naughton(power) Milla Jovovich (mother of two); business leaders like Zanna Roberts Rassi, fashion editor and TV host and Stacey Bendet, founder and CEO of Alice and Olivia among others
We Ugandans are not known for staying behind trends but the person to set off this trend locally has always been known to shy away from the public. Yes it is none other than our very own, media darling Daniella Atim Daniella Atim Mayanja. She hails from a deeply religious family and her late dad was one of the powerful names in the Catholic church in the country and has always given off a timid nature unlike her husband, famous artiste Jose Chameleone.
Being honest, we would have expected Sheebah, Desire, Fille, Spice Diana among others to do this but not our next door sweet heart Daniella.
For her 5th pregnancy, she embraced the fun and wild side with vibrant colors rather than the traditional nude pregnancy shoot. She is captured in green, white, red, black and yellow bold colors with a pair of red hand woven earrings and African bangles with a glowing expression of happiness.
The other image she is seated on pure white net with nothing on as she looks onto her bulging belly.
Do you think she nailed it?? Who is going to follow this trend? Here at Chano8 after a staff consensus, WE LOVE IT!
