The Bayimba International Festival of the Arts is that went down over the weekend is an exciting festival held annually in Kampala during the 3rd week of September which has become Uganda’s number one multi-arts festival and and a very important event on the entertainment calendar which kicked off with superb performances from Uganda’s veteran Raggae star Maddox Sematima and fast rising gospel singer Levixone Lala who raised the bar so high for the other performers.
The festival complete with a package of music, dance, theatre, film, and visual arts from renowned and upcoming local and international artists also attracted arts lovers from all over the world and peaked on Saturday with several performances.
The major highlight of day 2 being performances involving a collaboration of talented artists from East and West Africa in Joel Sebunjo(Uganda), Aly Keita (Mali) and Kayrece Kotso (Cameroon ) showcasing alongside lead guitarist Charmant Mushaga (Uganda/DRC), which was followed by another electrifying appearance by Sheebah Karungi.
Sunday was day three and climax of the event which took a whole new level with Naava Grey serenading the crowd with her lovely voice and masterly control of rhythm before Radio and Weasel sent the crowd into overdrive.
