Through the years, Itel mobile phones have been and are still in our faces but do you remember when they got on the Ugandan market? We may not tell the exact date but all we can say is last Saturday the 14th of October, Itel celebrated 10 years in Uganda at a glamorous event held at Protea Hotel’s conference room 2 locatd in Kololo, Kampala.
It was an invite only event that saw attendees who were mainly phone retailers across the country be handed hampers of gifts on their way in conference room. Hosted by KFM’s Malaika Nnyanzi the event enlightened the revellers more on what Itel has achieved in the 10 Years, challenges and way forward for the coming years.
While speaking at the event, Alex Liu the Country Manager Itel said.
“Ten years ago, Itel mobile launched in Africa inspired by a mission to empower everyone with seamless mobile communication through reliable mobile devices. We have managed to achieve one decade of change and steady growth. Itel is now present in over 45 countries. We make 1.2 million smart phone sales volume per month and have 200K retail shops.” He said
The event was dominated by giving back and lots of gifts like wireless bluetooth headsets, stand fans, refrigerators, percolators, flat screens and water dispensers were given out but through a lottery.
Apart from the gifts, Itel served the guests with snacks before they officially launched their latest smart phone Itel S32 which has taken over the previous one S31.
