For four seasons now Bakiga Nation has been holding the ‘Rukundo Egumeho’ social event whose aim is to bring closer and unite Bakiga who stay in Kampala and the neighbouring places. It’s where they get to meet, interact and above all have fun.
Last Sunday the 10th of December, Hilltop Naguru was filled to capacity as revellers from different walks of life came for this event’s 4th edition which went down successfully boasting of lots of activities like rope pulling, Kikiga dance battles (Kusooma) not forgetting performances from Rukiga Flow rapper T Bro.
However, despite the fact that the event is aimed at Bakiga, it did not stop other tribes from coming through to show their solidarity. It was truly a fun filled event that saw revellers party themselves crazy although by 8 PM the attendees had drunk all the beer and organisers were trying hard to get a fresh beer track to quench the revellers’ thirst
If you missed this year’s edition, you will have to wait until next year for ‘Rukundo Egumeho season 5’ and for those who might not know the meaning of ‘Rukundo Egumeho’, it is Rukiga for ‘let the love keep on’.
On the other hand, we noticed that the venue was too crowded as revellers kept on increasing every passing hour and hopefully organisers could try look for a bigger venue for the forthcoming editions
