Spending 10 years in a business or even in marriage with out any serious issues to distract you is really something worth celebrating. Way back in 2008, now one of the biggest record labels in Uganda Swangz Avenue opened doors and just like they say, the rest is history, with the most remarkable thing being the production of hit songs which we have through the years danced to.
For that matter, Swangz organised a mega concert for the fans and artistes who have grown with them. This concert also boasts of shows prior to it for other fans in different districts to have a feel of what Swangz is offering this year.
The Swangz All Star Tour sponsored by Bell Jamz was officially launched for the whole country to know on Tuesday evening the 8th of May 2018 at the Kampala Industrial Area based The Square where Journalists, fans and artistes were treated to a fabulous evening with lots of drinks, snacks and give a ways. At least every one walked backed home with Bluetooth speaker, headphones and a beautiful glass labeled Bell Jamz
While speaking at the launch of the tour whose climax will be in Kampala on Friday the 31st of August, Mr Benon Mugumbya the founder Swangz Avenue had this to say.
“Over the last 10 years, we have witnessed the growth of Ugandan music and local music talent. From the big names that were here a decade ago, to the new faces who are churning out great music. The Swangz All Star Tour will bring all these in one big music celebration, on one stage, to perform the best Ugandan hits”
You must be wondering when the tour is. The tour that will be headlined by artistes like Bebe Cool, Sheebah, Irene Ntale, Ykee Benda, Navio, Fik Fameica, A Pass, Winnie Nwagi, Vinka among many others will kick off in Mbale on 15th June then head to Gulu on 7th July, Masaka on 21st July and finally Arua on 4th August ahead of the main concert in Kampala
However, due to public demand, Mbarara has been added on to the list of the tour but this will be on 15th September after the main concert in August.
Back to the launch night, there were performances from rappers Feffe Bussi, Da Agent, Jim Nola and live Dj Mixes from Selector Jay. It was a mix and mingle experience that saw attendees who were a mixture of journalists, different top notch musicians, music producers and the fans rub shoulders at a fan night out at The Square which is slowly turning into a home of events.
