Media reports have been awash about the arrest of Vivianne Nakaliiki wife to NBS TV’s investigative journalist Solomon Serwanja by Uganda Police detectives at their marital home in Mukono district.
A few hours back, Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga released a statement regarding the arrest. He says
“Our detectives last evening intercepted a group of men in the areas of Makindye a Kampala suburb trying to sell drugs that belonged to the government. Upon arrest, they revealed that they were getting the drugs from the home of a gentleman named Solomon Serwanja in Mukono” Enanga said
Enanga went to reveal that when the men were interrogated the more, they agreed to lead the detectives to the home of Solomon.
“The group furthermore revealed that the drugs have been hidden at Solomon’s home. We went there and carried a search and found 14 boxes containing government drugs. Today morning we brought Vivianne to CPS to record a statement as her husband Serwanja was promised to come and explain how the drugs ended up at his home. Unfortunately, he hasn’t shown up to now. We are still holding his wife Vivianne” Enanga concluded.
Vivianne Nakaliiki is the Public Relations Officer for the Ministry of Health. She has been with the ministry for close to five years now.
