Purple Party organised by NTV’s Douglas Lwanga is amongst the many ‘must go’ parties every December holiday in Kampala because of the lots of activities it boasts of, one of them being the various number of artistes who perform for the fans.
With the first 4 editions taking place at beaches in Entebbe, last year Douglas made a change of venue and brought the party in Kampala at Uganda Museum located in Kitante where the 5th edition took place last year.
This was like an advantage to Kampalans who survived the Entebbe road traffic jam but according to the announcement of the 6th edition, the party is heading to the beach in Entebbe again. Yes, the party’s 6th edition is slated for Sunday the 17th of December at Spenah Beach, Entebbe.
When Chano8 contacted Douglas on why he decided to take the party back to Entebbe, this is what he told us. “You know come from Entebbe but that is not the main reason. There is too much congestion in town as many events will be taking place in Kampala so it is always good to give fans a different feel.” He briefly explained
However, on a bid to make the party more familiar to his fans country wide, Douglas decided to hold regional Purple Party tours in different districts with effect from last year. Districts like Jinja, Mbarara, Lira and Gulu had the experience and this year, Jinja, Mbale, Mbarara and Fort Portal are the only districts who hosted the party.
With the list of headlining artistes for the 6th edition about to be released Ug Shs 10,000 is the entry fee and gates will be opened from 10 AM till late
