Singer Moze Radio is expected to reappear at Katwe Police Station, after police summoned him to aid investigations after he allegedly hit a student with a beer bottle on the head.
On April 10th,2016, the Goodlyf member allegedly hit Simpson Kamugisha, a student at Management of Accountancy Training (MAT) Institute, at around 8:40pm around his home, located in Makindye.
Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson Patrick Onyango recently said the singer told the police that he mistook Kamugisha for a thug since he found him adjacent to his home in Kizungu Zone, Makindye Division.
Onyango further said Radio is facing assault charges and his case file had been forwarded to State Attorney for perusal and legal advice.
But Kamugisha alleged that he was walking with a friend when the ‘Neera’ crooner blocked them with his vehicle.
“He asked them where we were going and when they told him, he replied that he had never heard about them”. He told the police.
It is after this that the Goodlyfe singer reportedly started beating up Kamugisha, prompting his friend to take off and return with a boda boda cyclist, who in turn alerted the police after seeing the victim bleeding.
Radio and his colleagues told the police that they could do nothing to him since he was close to the Inspector General of Police Kale Kayihura and President Museveni, which forced the police officers to retreat.
Kamugisha reported a case at Katwe Police Station the next day and Radio was summoned to answer to the charges the following day.
He was interrogated before being released on police bond.
