After a busy world cup fan- filled adventure during the World cup in Brazil, RnB and Soul singer Rihanna earned herself a legion of new fans with her ‘informed’ tweets during the World Cup matches and now she reportedly fancies a move into ownership of a football club.
The Barbados beauty had a great time during the World Cup, tweeting her views on matches, attending the final and sharing pecks on the cheek with members of Germany’s victorious side. She also shared the VIP section with some big names and was seen sharing jokes with other big names.
Little did we know that, her enjoyment of the game would extend to wanting to share a boardroom with the likes of Mike Ashley and David Sullivan.
Last week, there were reports that the singer wanted to set up her own football academy in Barbados before branching into football ownership, with the ‘diamond’ singer said to be fancying a jump into the English game.
Spanish news provider Mundo Deportivo now reports that the club the pop star wants to call her own is Liverpool!
The Reds finished second in the Premier League last season playing an adventurous style – something the ‘Good girl gone bad’ knows all about and obviously wants to be part of.
Rihanna’s obstacle could come in the form current owner Fenway Sports Group, who have splashed the cash heavily this summer as they look for another sustained title challenge. They (FSG) have shown zero inclination that suggests they could sell the club any time soon.
So while she may want to take care of the 18-time English champions, she may not be able to run things in Liverpool.
