Robin Williams, daughter Zelda, has paid tribute to her late father to mark World Mental Health Day.
Taking to her twitter account Zelda said: ‘Today is #WorldMentalHealthDay. Mental illness is often misunderstood & misrepresented, but that’s starting to change.
Let’s end the stigma.’
She later added: ‘Lastly, my dad openly fought depression his whole life, both in general and his own. No matter what anyone says, it is a FIGHT. Fight on.’
Zelda’s father Robin Williams died after he committed suicide at his home in San Franciso.
The actress who had briefly quit social networks thanked fans and well wishers who kept sending her letters about how they dealt with their personal grief when they lost their loved ones.
‘I just want to say thank you for all the stories and letters I’ve been receiving, especially from those who’ve also lost loved ones,’ Zelda wrote on Tuesday.
‘I don’t come online often, but reading of others who have dealt with this loss & gone on to live happy, full lives is helpful. Truly.’
