Onduparaka FC, sponsored by Betway, will be hosting the club’s first ever international friendly game against GorMahia FC From Kenya. Gor Mahia Football Club, commonly also known as K’Ogalo, is a football club based in Nairobi, Kenya. They have won the Kenyan Premier League a record 15 times, two more than their arch-rivals A.F.C.
The club was started in 1968 on February 17th with their home ground being the Nairobi city stadium. Currently the club is under the capable hands of manager Ze’ Maria. The respect the Caterpillars have for GorMahia extends beyond their success on the pitch, and includes their ability to inspire a massive following that has kept the club growing from glory to glory over the years.
For a very longtime, this particular club has changed the face of Kenyan Premier League and Onduparaka FC is motivated by the team’s success and efforts. It was for this particular reason that the teams decided to organize this friendly just before the kick-off of second round of the Azam Uganda Premier League which in itself is great for sports development in Uganda and East Africa at large.
This international friendly game will be played this Saturday the 4th of February 2017 at Namboole National stadium as a build-up for the second leg of the Azam Uganda Premier League season which is expected to be far more fierce and competitive than the first and Onduparaka is going to use this match against GorMahiaFC as a springboard into a successful start.
Gor Mahia Fc will arrive into the country at Entebbe International Airport at 9pm on Thursday 2nd February 2017 and they will meet the press briefly and then they will be transported to their hotel which was not confirmed by press time. They will have a training session at Namboole on Friday 3rd in preparation for the game on Saturday in the same place.
“Onduparaka FC would like to thank all the sponsors that have enabled this day to come to life these include the official sponsor Betway, for all the support in preparation for this game, TemboFlour, Vendor Capital, UBL, Pioneer Buses and all others for their partnership”. Said Mercy Munduru the Club’s PRO.
