You remember when Team No Sleep’s (TNS) Sheebah Karungi and Jose Chameleone were in the news after their 2018 concerts were set for the same day? Chameleone wholeheartedly postponed his to 7th December, leaving 30th November for the self proclaimed Karma Queen to hold her ‘Omwooyo Album’ launch concert at Hotel Africana
We stand to be corrected if we say that Sheebah Karungi closed November in style with a sold out concert which filled Hotel Africana’s parking space to capacity again last Friday the 30th of November. As opposed to last year, the fans came in time and the show kicked off early as well. By 7PM, performances from curtain raisers has began
From her choice of costumes, to her energetic performance, to the dancers, stage lighting as well as sound, we must say that the ‘Twesaana’ singer’s concert was one to remember. She had promised to be on stage for at least two hours and she achieved that. She took to the stage at 9:30 PM after short performances from Gravity Omutujju, Roden Y, Diamond Oscar, Spice Diana, Topic Kasente among others
She perfomed a mixture of her songs, from the old to the new ones as the excited crowd cheered her and she never disapoted but delivered a mesmerising showcase they must still narrating to their friends who missed. Among the dongs she performed were ‘Twesana’, ‘Sitani Tonkema’, ‘Nkwatako’, ‘Ice Cream’, ‘Akuse’, ‘Wantama’, ‘Otubatisa’, ‘Ndiwanjawulo’, ‘Nipe Yote’ and ‘Mummy Yo’ among others.
The organization was on point and just when most thought the show was done at 11.30 PM after she had performed ‘Omwoyo’ which the concert was named after, Sheebah emerged on an improvised lift that was placed in the middle of the venue and sang a few songs before water started splashing on her from all directions. This was something new on the scene and quite memorable. She climaxed the show with Wankona and like last year, the fans still wanted more
The concert was organised by one Musa Kavuma commonly know as KT and was sponsored by Africell
