You can’t talk about Ugandan comedy without talking about the amazing Anne Kansiime. It being a Woman crush Wednesday and her birthday we found it ideal to shed a light on her blossoming career.
With over 1 million fans on Facebook (bigger than any artist or brand in Uganda), Kansiime has solidified her place as a major force to reckon with. Often referred to as the Ugandan queen of comedy, the amazing celebrity is not no one to shy away from her roots. Her humble beginnings from Kabale were the foundation of her dream, a dream to be among the best in Africa and eventually take on the world something she has made tremendous
She recently had her first ever one-woman show #IamKansiime which was not only a crowd puller but also had international celebrities like the famous Yvonne Chaka Chaka coming all the way from South Africa to Uganda to just attend her show. She even had a little surprise for Kansiime when she decided to perform on the stage something that pushed her amazing show to unprecedented heights and also cemented a high ranking in the history of Ugandan comedy.
Kansiime’s passion and love for children has also seen her start her own foundation ‘Kansiime foundation’ to support children to go to school. She opted to start small by supporting 30 children from the western region and eventually take on more from all over the country as God leads her way.
While talking about her birthday, the comedienne couldn’t help but share her joy,
‘Happy birthday to me.
May I live to blow as many candles as the mistakes I have made in this life…….wululululululul never to die indeed!!
Thank you God for all the favor u have put up on my life.
May I grow to learn how to seek u more.’
Words to describe her career are often elusive because almost every awesome word that comes to mind feels like an understatement. Kansiime has carried the Ugandan flag so high and we at chano8 couldn’t be more proud,
Happy Birthday Kansiime.
