Jamal Wasswa last had a concert dubbed ‘Abakyala Baziira’ back in 1999 and it was regarded as one of the most attended at kati kati restaurant but since then, his music career has neither been improving nor relapsing and it’s perhaps for this reason that the artiste together with his manager Nisha Bridgette decided to have a concert which took place last Friday evening at club Guvnor.
It was well attended going by the fact that it had rained heavily during the day and mostly because Neyo was in town but that didn’t stop party goers from attending ‘A music star experience’ featuring Jamal.
Smartly dressed in a white doted shirt, black pants and black shoes, Jamal backed by a live band took to the stage at a few minutes past midnight and straight away began his one and a half hour performance. He first took the crowd down memory lane with songs like ‘Abakyala balabye, Ononsonyiwa, Sooka Osabe, Abakyala Baziira among others before embarking on Omusomesa, Siste and other hit songs.
The crowd didn’t disappoint either as they kept singing along word for word to Jamal’s music the entire time he was on stage.
Before his performance, the crowd enjoyed some three songs from Naira Ali who is fast becoming a force to reckon with among the female artistes. There were als performances from Kampala Mayoral candidate Ragga Dee and comedian Patrick ‘Salvador’ Idringi who joined Jamal on stage with funny dance moves.
