It looks like the only way the Ugandan football league is going to regain it’s good image and popularity is through clubs associating with artistes. Not even three months since Express FC unveiled Bobi Wine as their brand ambassador, SC Villa has also come today and announced that musician Leila Kayondo is their new ambassador.
The deal was signed between Leila and the club president Eng. Ben Misagga at the club offices and she promised to use her celebrity status to attract more fans to the club as well using her sources to ensure that more rich friends get attracted to one of Uganda’s oldest and successful clubs. “I am a big brand and I’m more than ready to bring more fans to this great club,” she said.
The sexy Diva is supposed to front the club’s objectives everywhere she goes as its image and some of the things she signed up for were to record a song praising Villa, perform at the club’s events and attend most games that they will be involved in when this season kicks off.
Leila, famed for songs such as ‘Awo’, ‘Manifesto’ and ‘Horray’ among others, was businessman SK Mbuga’s girlfriend and during that time, she used to connect with bigwigs who she could influence to invest in the club.
She replaces Desire Luzinda whose contract was not renewed some time back due to unknown reasons. We wish Leila and Villa the best in their endeavors.
