It was last Thursday that we got to know Bobi Wine had actually made up his mind to fully participate in politics but his statements when announcing that he will stand for the Kyadondo East Constituency seat left us bemused.
The musician said that he has been singing for a longtime but has realised that not songs alone can change the world.
“Yes I have spent a lot of time singing but I have come to learn that even if you sing so many songs but when you have not reached the real places of decision making and also participate, it is a waste of time,” He said.
The father of four then added that he is not a politician but he comes to offer his leadership skills because he has been talking about issues that affect the people especially the poor.
Bobi Wine thinks that the people of Kyadondo East constituency will have a voice in him and in case his voice is not heard, at least he can resort to singing on floor of Parliament if elected to power.
The ‘Situka’ singer last Thursday declared his intentions to contest for the Kyadondo East constituency seat that fell vacant on Wednesday, burying the rumors of his political ambitions.
