Much as we are praising him as one of Uganda’s best footballers currently, his club is not impressed by his display over the past one year he has been with them, scoring just two goals yet he’s a striker.
Farouk Miya, going by the news we received from Belgium has been loaned to a team known as Royal Excel Mouscron that is fighting relegation in the league just after a year with the Champions league team.
The club confirmed the short loan deal between the two sides and will see the Uganda cranes striker spend the rest of the 2016-17 at new club.
“Standard de Liège, Royal Excel Mouscron and Farouk Miya have reached an agreement,” read part of the statement on the standard liege website
Farouk Miya who scored Uganda’s only goal at the Afcon joined Standard Liege in January last year from Vipers but has struggled for playing time at the club that sits 9th on the log with 33 points after 24 games.
The club that Miya has joined sits at the bottom of the table with just 18 points after 24 games only waiting to be relegated if they don’t improve.
