Uganda Cranes recently qualified for the African Cup of Nations after defeating Cape Verde recently at Mandela National stadium.
This is the second time in a row that the Cranes are qualifying for Africa’s precious tournament scheduled for next year in a yet to be identified venue with one game to spare and with this, the team received a nomination for the ‘Best Team 2018’ In The CAF Awards slated for January.
The Cranes who are unbeaten and with a clean sheet in this campaign so far are tussling it out with Kenya, Guinea Bissau, Zimbabwe, Mauritania and Madagascar for the top price.
The Cranes is not the only nominee for the top price as goalkeeper Denis Onyango is also nominated among the best ‘African Player 2018’.
He will have to challenge Mohammed Salah, Saido Mane, Nebi Keita, Idirissa Gueye, Kalidou Kulibaly, Mehdi Benatia in this category whose award he won two years back.
