Today Uganda Cranes are in Lome to face Togo in an African cup of Nations qualifier. However, a section of Uganda Cranes fans are still angry after the loss to Togo on Saturday with some blaming Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda for the loss for bringing ‘bad luck’ to the team.
The Prime Minister was the Chief Guest during the match between Uganda Cranes and Togo in Namboole. However many Cranes fans were not happy when he was announced as chief guest by the MC and also invited to make a ‘short speech’.
He was booooed by a section of fans mostly those backing the former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi. Mr Mbabazi has been the chief guest in most of the previous Uganda Cranes matches in Namboole and his presence was announced by Music Doctor Jose Chameleone at half time on Saturday.
Today, the Cranes are in Lome for the return fixture where they have an opportunity to fix things after Saturday’s disappointing show at home where they lost 1-0. However they need alot of prayers as Capatain Andy Mwesigwa who contained Adebayor at Namboole is out suspended. The Cranes are now second in Group E behind Ghana who were held to a 1-1 draw by Guinea on Saturday night on the neutral pitch in Casablanca, Morocco.
Guinea team contingent Monday morning also arrived in Tamale city for the other Group E qualifier clash with the Black Stars of Ghana.
