Today 30th December, all roads lead to Kampala Serena Hotel for the 4th Ugandan Diaspora Social Networking Gala. The Gala organised by the Ugandan community leaving and working abroad is set to recognize the immense contribution made to the Pearl of Africa from those Ugandans living outside the motherland.
This is also a special moment in which The Uganda Investment Authority, the Diaspora Unit at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ugandans in the Diaspora come to celebrate and share ideas and business opportunities together for the 4th edition of the Ugandan Diaspora Social Networking Gala.
In a break with tradition, the organisers yesterday organised the first Diaspora Business Breakfast meeting Moderated by Prof. Dr. Maggie Kigozi the Patron and former Executive Director Uganda Investment Authority.
The Breakfast meeting which was a special invite only gathering was a great opportunity for attendees to meet and connect with Diaspora Investors and Business leaders who turned up in big numbers from 9AM to 12PM at Kampala Serena Hotel’s Katonga Conference Hall. They also presented proposals to government for investment opportunities abroad.
According to information from the organiser’s, today’s main event shall take place at Kampala Serena’s Victoria Ballroom – starting with the usual Diaspora Networking followed by the award ceremony and entertainment that will include fashion by Solome Katongole, Martha Jabo and Rachel Nakimera, comedians Salvador Idringi, Herbert Ssegujja Mendo (Seevo) will crack ribs and live music from leading entertainers in town among others.
The fee for this event is set at 150,000/= for the public or $60 dollars, the entry ticket at Serena will also get guests into Industrial Area based Club Guvnor for the official After-party which will feature the latest fashion designs from Stella Atal. Tickets at the door will cost UGX – 30,000/=
