Should we say he was under the influence alcohol or pressure? The unthinkable happened to Manchester United’s manager Jose Mourinho last Saturday after he fell down outside the main entrance of Wembley Stadium where he was to watch England’s UEFA Nations League match against Spain
The 55-year-old climbed over a stanchion’s red rope that caught his back leg making him stumble onto the floor as the stunned crowd watched. With the help of a member of Wembley Stadium staff, Mourinho was quick to get back onto his feet as he wore a sheepish smile on his face
Football fans were quick to react to the incident on Twitter, with one comparing Mourinho to former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger. Recalling the time when Wenger slipped over at an airport, “He’s looking more like Wenger every day.” A Twitter user identified as @martinjw25 Tweeted
Mourinho’s fall continued what has been a tough start to the season for the under-pressure United boss.
His side’s title hopes suffered two major blows in August as Man United were beaten by Brighton and Tottenham in the Premier League.
