The 10th edition of Blankets and Wine Festival is coming closer and the artiste line up for this one is better than ever with Dance-hall and Reggae star APass, songstresses Lilian Mbabazi and Solome, and Zahara from South Africa are set to rock the stage. The excitement is building among ardent fans of the outdoor event which has become a big social gathering in Kampala.
The music festival has been going strong for three and a half years and is getting bigger and better. According to the organizers, East Africa’s premier music experience designed to showcase outstanding musicians in the emerging genres of afro based music.
When the festival started, it was expected to be mostly attended by foreigners but now it has become part of the corporate Kampala party goers and corporate circles. This is an event characterized by a day picnic event where revelers are allowed to carry their own wine and blankets (mats). There will be live band performances from the Lillian Mbabazi and the Sundowners band.
Fast rising Dance-hall star, APass is to perform too at this month’s festival. ‘Memories’, a song by APass and Lilian Mbabazi has been and is still dominating hangouts and the airwaves and is probably the reason why the two were selected to entertain at this particular edition. APass has always been a fan favorite and will probably showcase an electric performance after accompanying Jamaican dance-hall artistes Konshens and Busy Signal at their ‘Dance with Champions’ concert recently.
The Blankets and Wine Festival is set to take place at Uganda National Museum on Sunday 27th September 2015 and tickets will go for 80,000/= and are available on www.kaymu.co.ug. Chano8 as usual will be there to bring you the updates.
