Ugandans are fast becoming a force to reckon with in Coke Studio as they are steadily making a big impact on the annual international music platform.
We have had artistes like Radio and Weasel, Jose Chameleone, Navio, Lilian Mbabazi, Juliana, Lydia Jazmine and Eddy Kenzo among others representing us before. And now already, Ykee Benda is in Nairobi participating as the latest entrant.
He was too excited for this opportunity and he went straight to his social media and posted that indeed dreams do come true if you keep the faith.
Ykee Benda, real names Tugume Wycliff added that he never expected to be on such a big platform.
“Don’t stop dreaming if you are a young person out there. I tell you 2years ago I watched all these African big stars do their thing on this stage. I told myself one day that would be me and that day is here,” he said.
The musician also advised the young musicians to never doubt themselves and to always believe until ‘Belief’ becomes their middle name.
This comes a few months after he was named by MTV base among the most promising artistes in Uganda this year with songs like ‘Farmer’(ft Sheebah), ‘Muna Kampala’ and ‘Eva’ among others.
