Uganda’s fast rising dance–hall star Ziza Bafana has sounded the war drums ahead of his much anticipated ‘Guluma Nasomye Batufitina Concert’. Bafana who is holding his second major concert after the success of ‘Pomini Pomini’ last year, was in high spirits at a press conference organised to unveil the concert at Kati Kati Restaurant in Lugogo this afternoon.
The concert scheduled for the same venue pits him against Gagamel Boss Bebe Cool whose Friends of Bebe Cool concert will be taking place on the same day August 7th at Kampala Serena Hotel.
Bafana who was bombarded a series of questions by journalists relating to the choice of date and venue, says he is comfortable sharing the same date with MTV nominee Bebe Cool arguing that they have different target audiences for the concerts and therefore there is no conflict as concerns him and Bebe Cool.
There were also many questions concerning his conduct and image now that telecommunication giants MTN and other big brands are backing his concert, but Bafana rubbished the claims instead throwing it back to the media whom he said sometimes report falsely or exaggerate the stories to do with his conduct with hidden agenda.
Bafana known for his ‘Pomini Pomini’ song has been MTN’s celeb on the MTN Holla life social media campaign where fans had a chance to request his songs and download them as ring back and caller tunes while standing a chance to win tickets for the upcoming concert.
He has promised to set Kati Kati on fire come August 7th with his sponsors all in full support promising to back local talent although he also accepted the fact Ugandans are slow at supporting their own especially when it comes to awards on the international scene.
“I thank you all for supporting Ugandan music and ask all my fans to come in big numbers for this concert where we’ll be making history” Bafana concluded.
