12 Students Seriously Injured As Cause Of St Peter’s Nsambya SS Fire Remains Unknown

Thanks to God there were no deaths reported as 12 students from the Makindye-based St Peter’s Senior Secondary School Nsambya (SPENSA) got injured yesterday evening following a fire that gutted the 1907 founded school. The 12 were rushed to the nearby Nsambya Hospital where they are currently receiving thorough medical care.

According to news and eye witness accounts, there is a report that, the fire resulted from an electric short circuit that set the building ablaze whereas other sources say the exact cause of the fire is still unknown. According to the Kampala metropolitan police spokes person Mr Emilian Kayima, Investigations into the matter have commenced already and detailed report will be released soon.

St Peter’s Senior Secondary School Nsambya was founded by the Mill Hill Missionaries in 1907. The school cherishes the legacy of the Roman Catholic foundation, pivoting on the principles and core values that shape a dignified human character.
