18-Year-Old Jacob Kiplimo Wins Gold In The Great Manchester Run For Uganda

18-Year-old long distance runner Jacob Kiplimo made himself and his country Uganda proud again after emerging winner during the 2019 Simplyhealth Great Manchester Run on Sunday in the 10 kilometers race

Kiplimo beat his contenders Eyob Faniel from Italy and Antonio Abadia from Spain after finishing in a time of 27 minutes and 31 seconds. Eyob and Antonio finished second and third in 28:24 and 28:39 respectively

The teenager becomes the second Ugandan to win this race after Moses Kipsiro who won it in 2013 after finishing in a time of 27 minutes and 52 seconds

Kiplimo may be young in age but he was a dominant force and was in complete control throughout his entire impressive performance

Around 30,000 runners took to the streets of Manchester city for the 17th edition of the Great Manchester Run, where a half marathon event is held to raise money for charity.

Ugandans have since Sunday taken to social media to congratulate the Kiplimo upon the milestone which came along with some cash, Ug Shs 37 million.
