This event came, it took over and it is here to stay. Today on their 12th edition, Blankets and Wine (B&W) an East Africa’s premier music experience designed to showcase outstanding musicians in the emerging genres of afro-based music is today taking place at what seems to be its permanent venue, The Uganda Museum located in Kitante- Kampala.
Today, it’s going to see lots of performances from the following artistes who you might need to watch live on stage if at all you find your self there.
Maddox Ssematimba Ssemanda.
This one is a veteran Reggae artiste who is behind songs like ‘Namagembe’, ‘Nakatudde’, ‘Munakyaalo’ among many others. When it comes to stage performance he is good and those who attended the last Amakula Festival can testify to this. Be sure to watch Maddox sing his nice tunes.
Uhuru from South Africa
This is a four man music group from Madiba land and they are the ones who produced Mafikizolo’s ‘Khona’ hit. They are already in town and ready for their performance. They have lots of songs among which include, ‘Pata Pata’, ‘Work’ and ‘Khona’ remix featuring Mafikizolo.
She is an amazing performer who rose to stardom after winning the Airtel Trace Music Star musical competition in the year 2015. She is a good vocalist too who has sang songs like ‘Togwamu Suubi’ meaning don’t lose hope. Her previous showcase at the Qwela Junction Divas Episode was a good one and we expect her to put up a better one at Blankets and Wine.
Chano8 will be there to bring to all the action at the event which, so keep your eyes locked right here.
