Kool & The Gang Bringing ‘Celebration’ To Kampala

Kool & The Gang are some of the few musicians whose songs can be compared to friendship and wine; they get better with time. Having achieved worldwide fame and success from the 70s, they etched their name in the history of pop and funk music. Come November 12th, the American group will be down in Kampala for a show set to rock the town.

The group will be in Uganda courtesy of Talent Africa International and Silk Events.

Aly Allibhai, CEO of Talent Africa says that it is their aim to bring to Uganda the best in worldwide entertainment, and Ugandans should brace themselves for “the greatest concert of all time.”

“Kool & The Gang is coming with their full band and their stage performance is out of this world. People should get ready to Celebrate!” Allibhai said.

The show will see the group performing the songs that made them the cult heroes they are today. These include like Celebration, Cherish, Fresh, Jungle Boogie, Summer Madness, Get Down On It, and Ladies Night.

Elvis Sekyanzi, the Managing Director at Silk events was in total agreement with Allibhai.

“Kool & The Gang are living legends. They will have Ugandans of all ages dancing this November. The production for this show will be mind blowing and we have already started preparations for a mega show” he said.

The group was a brainchild of Robert “Kool” Bell his brother Ronald was one of the founding members. They’ve earned two Grammy Awards, seven American Music Awards, 25 Top Ten R&B hits, nine Top Ten Pop hits and 31 gold and platinum albums. Kool & the Gang have performed continuously for the past 5 decades, longer than any R&B group in history.
