AK 47: A Year Later, Questions And No Answers

Dance-hall artiste Ak 47 real names Emmanuel Mayanja breathed his last after reaching Nsambya hospital on this day last year at only 26 years of age after it was alleged that he hit his head on a tile in Dejavu Bar and Lounge in Kansanga, although the autopsy results up to now hasn’t come out yet.

The musician who is survived by three children was the younger brother of Uganda stars Jose Chameleone, Weasel and Pallaso. No cause of death has been confirmed till date and no one has been jailed in relation to the death.

Thought to be one of the greatest dance-hall artistes to have graced the music industry, the late AK47 unlike his brothers, was never into wrangles and his music career was something good to write about.

Some of his most prominent songs include “Gal a bubble’, AK, Ebaluwa, Kidandali ‘Tukikolemu’, ‘Action packed’, and “Ndimulokole’, the last track he did among others.

He was buried three days later at his ancestral home in Mityana after a public viewing at the National Theatre where thousands of his fans, friends and family gathered to pay their last respect.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
