From the time comedian Alex Muhangi began the Comedy Store show, it has been one of the top shows thronged by hundreds of comedy lovers and well wishers. Initially it began at the Bukoto based Diners Lounge until some management issues  from both sides arose there by forcing Muhangi to shift to a fresh venue.

The new venue was none other than 400 Bar still located in Bukoto and a few metres from Diners Lounge. The show resumed in October and everything was going on smoothly until yesterday when Muhangi issued a press release informing the public and fans that the show shifted again.

With effect from Thursday the 25th of January, Comedy Store will be held at the Lugogo Based Uganda Manufactures Association (UMA) Exhibition Hall.

The real reason why  this show made an abrupt change of venue was the constant interruptions by Kampala Capital City Authority whose rule is all outdoor night events should end by midnight therefore shifting to UMA Hall which is an indoor venue and more spacious was not a bad idea.

“UMA Hall is spacious, has ample parking along with a bar and restaurant to serve our audience. We commit to deliver the same unbeatable comedy and music entertainment that you have always known Comedy Store For. We hope you bear with us.” read part of the press release

Kenyan artiste Nameless and comedians Mad Rat and Chiko, MC Mariachi, Snake and Zolo, MC Kapale, Tamale Murundi, Senga Nantume, Amooti, Kere Kere, Dicanio, Jaja Bruce, Dolibondo will headline this year’s first edition come 25th of January and adverts are already running.
