The Maurice Kirya Mwooyo album launch was hosted at his very own tea house, Sound cup, where many artists have done similar events to showcase music.
The guests started dropping in as early as 6pm and by 7pm it was evident his fans were eager for the new album. Guests were ushered in by beautiful girls selling the new album ‘Mwooyo’ at a fee of 30,000 shillings and led to a cocktail table draped in black outside the coffee shop.
The launch turned out to be star studded with musicians and socialites like Ruyonga, Judith Heard, Singer Maro, Abryanz, Ali (Airtel) Fat Boy, Douglas Lwanga, Sheila Gashumba, Bebe Cool and Navio among others, coming through to support and cheer on their friend or fellow artiste.
The guest of honor and artist of the hour Maurice Kirya arrived at 8:30 with his entourage and took the effort to greet and thank his guests personally for coming, took numerous pictures as the girls swooned in for selfies and hugs. When he finally got the chance to take center stage, the soulful singer thanked everyone who has supported him through his music journey, his family, fans, his team and also his critics.
He spoke of his dream to one day be honored at the Grammy’s and his faith that the work they are doing was indeed good. He explained that the album was based on events from his life, making the album personal to him.
He never stopped thanking everyone who was with him through every step of the way. As the night went on he signed most of all the albums that had been purchased that night and went on to take more pictures with his fans as the night winded down.
