American Rapper Rick Ross To Perform Live At Post Covid-19 Charity Concert In Uganda

Uganda like many other countries has been in lockdown for close to 3 months due to coronavirus outbreak with some activities still not allowed yet even when government has moved to ease the lockdown which was imposed as a measure to curb the spread of the deadly disease.

Private and public transport has now been allowed to operate with several other businesses allowed to open, however crowd-pulling activities are still not allowed and hence entertainment has been affected so much with many shows and concerts now happening online.

But there is hope that sooner or later things will be fine and already some events organisers are already planning for the post Covid life with a bang as  news we recently got is that, American Rapper Rick Ross has been lined up to perform at a mega concert to get back the grooving party moods of Ugandans.

Rick Ross could be in Uganda anytime after things normalize.

Swangz Avenue who are at the front of this recently released a statement in which the rapper will feature at a concert dubbed “Uganda Benefit Concert” which is slated to happen anytime soon after the lockdown is lifted.

According to a source, the concert is jointly organized by big guns in the industry Swangz Avenue in partnership with Talent Africa and Malembe.

The organizers of the concert say that the proceeds from this concert will be donated to the government to facilitate health workers that have given in their all to fight the COVID-19 pandemic in Uganda.

Swangz Avenue Boss Julius Kyazze also confirmed the arrangement in a tweet.

“After everything Ugandans and the rest of the world have battled in the past couple of months, we thought ‘what better way could there be to remind ourselves that we are strong together’” Rick is a 5 time Grammy Award Nominee and his song “Gold Rose” featuring Drake was nominated as a best Hip-Hop song in the 2020 Grammy Awards”. He said

Rick Ross was the first artist to get signed to P.Diddy’s Ciroc Entertainment. He later founded his own music label called Maybach Music Group (MMG) in 2009. If all goes according to plan, this will be the Mayback Music Group Boss’ first time to perform in Uganda though he recently performed in Kenya.
