If there is one comedian who is high demand right now, then it has to be Anne Kansiime. Following massive performances in Malawi and Zambia about a week ago, the comedienne has been booked for yet shows in Rwanda and Zimbabwe on 24th July and 6th August respectively. If that wasn’t enough the Uganda queen of comedy will headline the Africa Fest event in London alongside new close friend Yvonne Chaka Chaka in November.
Despite all the criticism from some of the tabloids, the unwavering support for Kansiime seems to be growing bigger not only in Uganda but in several African countries like Malawi, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Zambia where she previously sold-out shows. Kansiime seems to be hitting unprecedented heights and defying all odds that were set. Her ever increasing online fanbase across platforms like Facebook, Youtube, Instagram and Twitter is only evidence that she is a force to reckon with.
There were obstacles, there were doubters, there were mistakes, but her hard work didn’t wither, she kept pushing the boundaries and it’s no wonder she has gotten several endorsement deals and most recently signing on to be an ambassador for the Every last child campaign with Save the Children.
