On Thursday the 1st of February 2018, singer Mowzey Radio breathed his last following the January 22nd 2018 bar brawl in Entebbe where he sustained nasty head injuries that left him bedridden at Case Hospital until the day he passed on, 8 days after his 33rd birthday which was on 25th January 2018
One year later, Weasel who was Radio’s singing partner under Goodlyfe Crew decided to in partnership with Jose Chameleone organise Radio’s ‘Moses The Great Album’ listeners party to celebrate his legacy and 34th birthday, last Friday the 25th of January 2019
As many roads lead to Freedom City Mall and Lugogo Cricket Oval for artistes Spice Diana and David Lutalo concerts, some roads lead to the Acacia Avenue based DNA Lounge owned by musician Jose Chameleone where the party went down
Although the revellers didn’t listen to the album due to yet to be identified reasons, it did not stop them from celebrating the legacy of the fallen singer who was a big contribution to the music industry.
As early as 8 PM an encouraging number of fans was at the venue as they were treated to the best of live music mixes played by Dj Clive.
Clive played Radio and Weasel old and new songs as well as those of other local artistes as more revellers came through. Dj LL later took to the wheels of steel, treating the revellers to more live Dj mixes until a few minutes to 1 AM when Weasel, fellow artistes and celebrities who were in attendance and fans joined together to cut cake in celebration of none but Mowzey Radio’s birthday
In attendance were Eddy Kenzo, Pallaso, Fire Base Army, Levixone, Nina Roz, Ykee Benda, Gift Of Kaddo, Jaguar and Frasha from Kenya among others
Late singer Mowzey Radio was a darling to many Ugandans and he will forever be. The way he met his untimely death whose cause is still a mystery hurt his family, fans, friends, workmates and well-wishers but we have to accept the fact that he is gone
Here are some the photos of how Radio’s 34th birthday was celebrated at DNA Lounge.
