Bebe Cool Still Upbeat After Losing Out At The MTV Awards, Calls For Home Support

Over the weekend, the famous MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAs) happened in Johannesburg- South Africa and Uganda had top artistes nominated in different categories. One of them was Big Size Bebe Cool who was nominated with a couple of artistes in the category of Listeners Choice award.

However, it’s not bad that Bebe Cool lost but a section of Ugandans have taken to social media to say all kinds of nasty things as regards to him not winning the award at the awarding ceremony. However, the simple truth is he had done his part.

The ‘Kabulengane’singer has taken to social media in retaliation to ‘haters’ pouring scorn on his career.

“Developed countries like Nigeria and South Africa not forgetting the western world always rally behind their people when the battle is beyond borders or when their people have contributed to their country, but only in my country Uganda is where u find its people doing otherwise. Why do Ugandans fear competition? Why do Ugandans feel bad for each other’s achievement? Why do Ugandans have a lot of negative energy?” Bebe Cool wrote

This was Bebe Cool’s second nomination in these awards and has also used the opportunity to send a special thanks and appreciation to his fans who tirelessly voted for their star.

“It’s not that I didn’t expect negative energy but it’s a pity it is even growing stronger in my country and it will affect our social/economic development as a country in different sectors. I thank the people who are supportive of hardworking Ugandans. I have displayed strength, capability and talent, sacrificed and helped to build others despite the negative forces and am still going to do so.” He added.

Bebe Cool was however so thankful to the awards organisers MTV for the platform they have given him and the other Ugandan artistes and was too thankful to all those who voted for him and swore to die with a person in a need to raise the Ugandan flag at its highest.

This comes after another Ugandan artiste Eddy Kenzo complaining about the same awards after he (Kenzo) felt he was cheated following the loss to Casper Nyonvest of South Africa which fans were not happy about.
